Our Reason to Give:
“When a child becomes seriously ill or injured treatment can sometimes last for weeks or even months. And for children facing these crises, nothing is scarier than the thought of not having mom and dad close by for love and support. Ronald McDonald House Charities® Eastern Wisconsin provides a place to call home—a place where they can feel safe, focus on treatment, and heal together. Ronald McDonald House Charities® Eastern Wisconsin was built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child – not finding a place to stay or where they will get their next meal. After learning about the healing environment that RMHC creates for the entire family, we felt compelled to help. It was easy to see how the love and support of family is just as powerful as the strongest medicine prescribed. Our business is focused on building homes where families can spend their time together and create wonderful memories. By supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities® Eastern Wisconsin and hosting the Christmas Fantasy House for our second year, we’re extending that ideal to give families in need an incredible gift — the gift of each other and a stress-free place to call ‘home’ during treatment.” — John Stoker, Founder and President of Victory Homes of Wisconsin, Inc.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – MARCH 11, 2019
Luxury Custom Builder Moves Into Madison
Germantown, WI (March 11, 2019) – Victory Homes of Wisconsin, Inc., a leading custom home builder that specializes in luxury homes, announced it is expanding into the Madison (Dane County) area. The company, headquartered in Germantown, Wisconsin, started operations in 2003, and has built more than 1,200 custom homes throughout the greater Milwaukee area.
Victory’s move to Madison has been carefully planned for several years. Market research, available land, building permit reports, and the needs and wants of Dane County buyers made the decision to expand an easy choice. “We are not new to the Madison market. In fact we’ve built several homes in Dane County for previous customers. Quite a few of our suppliers also have locations in this market which makes the transition consistent and seamless,” remarks David Roembke, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. “We feel that our unique approach to building high-end custom homes, along with our talented team of professionals and trusted suppliers, and our willingness to provide excellent customer service is a perfect fit for what Madison-area buyers are looking for. Our goal is to become the brand of excellence in the Dane County area.”
With two new model homes premiering at the 2019 MABA Parade of Homes this summer, the company expects to meet the area’s high demand for luxury custom homes. Victory will unveil their popular 4,289 Sq. Ft. Brooklyn model at Middleton’s Cardinal Prairie Parade site, Their second home, the Verona, in Waunakee’s Kilkenny Farms, is a brand new 4,185 Sq. Ft. Modern Farm home design. Both models feature split bedroom ranch layouts with finished lower levels. Both will also showcase Victory’s standard high quality features as well as some additional upgrades that pertain to the architectural style of each home.
Victory’s business model will likely differ from what the typical Madison buyer is used to. They aim to have one or more high-end model home available at all times so buyers can get a feel for the level of customization that comes standard with every Victory home. John Stoker, Founder and President explains, “We want to build a variety of model homes in convenient locations where potential buyers can walk through to experience the quality and design firsthand. Every builder says they build a quality product. We don’t just want to say it. We want to show the quality and have our buyers experience it for themselves. It’s what they can expect in their Victory home and what they can hold us accountable to.”
Personalization is a big deal at Victory Homes of Wisconsin. They believe that every home should be custom built. “When you build a custom home you design everything for your preferences and the way your family will live in the home. It’s the only way to get what you really want,” says Stoker. “Victory offers a unique and transparent design and personalization process to every one of our customers. Our homeowners are involved from day one and literally watch their visions progress throughout every stage of construction. They are right there, along with our team, throughout every step of the process, so when we hand them the keys it’s a culmination of the whole building process, and they’ve been involved every step of the way. I couldn’t imagine a more satisfying job than the one I have.”
To kick off their move, Victory Homes of Wisconsin is hosting a special Dinner & Learn event at 5:30 pm on April 23, at Nonn’s Kitchen, Bath & Flooring (7550 Graber Rd., Middleton, WI), where their team of experts will guide you through every stage of your custom build. They will answer questions about the custom home building process—from selecting your plan, to lot characteristics, to what’s trending in home design and finance—they will cover all the details and give potential buyers the opportunity to hear from homeowners that have walked in their shoes. Attendees will leave knowing what it’s like to build with Victory Homes of Wisconsin. RSVP to the event by calling Ken Nelson at 608-733-0027 or emailing ken.nelson@victorycompaniesofwisconsin.com.

Milwaukee area homebuilding posts best year since the Great Recession
Paul Gores, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel – Jan. 25, 2019

Home construction in the metro Milwaukee area enjoyed its best year in 2018 since the Great Recession, fueled by a strong economy and slimmer pickings in the used-home market.
Permits to build new homes in Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington and Waukesha counties totaled 1,488 last year, up 3.5 percent from 1,437 in 2017, data from MTD Marketing Services of Wisconsin Inc. shows.
Although single-family homes and duplexes didn’t go up at the rapid pace of the early 2000s, it was the best showing since 1,683 building permits were issued in the four counties in 2007.
Oconomowoc recorded the most permits for new homes with 95, up from 63 in 2017. Among other popular spots for new home construction last year were Menomonee Falls, Waukesha, New Berlin, Mequon, Summit and Sussex, according to MTD.
“There’s more and more new developments and subdivisions going up because developers’ confidence is there because of the economic conditions,” said David Roembke, vice president of sales and co-owner of Germantown-based The Victory Companies, which is the parent company of Victory Homes of Wisconsin and Allan Builders. “There’s more opportunity and options for people to build in places that you haven’t seen in the past.”
Affordability, skilled labor become issues
The average value of homes for which permits were issued in the four-county metro area was $381,559, MTD’s report indicates. That was up 3 percent from $370,405 in 2017. The average size of new homes was 2,894 square feet.
The price of new homes has been driven up by the costs of labor, lumber and lots, making it economically challenging to build houses in the in-demand $300,000 or less market, builders say. Many of the new homes that went up in suburban Milwaukee in 2018 cost at least $400,000.
The cost of lumber has stabilized, Roembke said, but skilled labor has been hard to find. Many experienced tradespeople permanently left the home construction business during the housing crisis that was part of the Great Recession.
“Labor, because of supply and demand, these guys are getting top dollar now in the trades, as they should,” Roembke said. “They are good at what they do, and in order to keep them busy and keep them working for you as a builder, you pay them. You keep it in line, but the costs have gone up significantly.”
Roembke, whose company mostly constructs high-end houses, said when home shoppers can’t find exactly what they want in the existing market and weigh the costs of buying a used house and renovating it, more of them have been choosing to build new instead.
“I think the existing (home) market is just not offering enough benefit and features for the value,” he said. “So we see a lot of people choosing therefore to build.”
Roembke said he thinks homebuilding will grow further in 2019.
Roembke, a member of the Metropolitan Builders Association, said the organization’s recent annual Home Building & Remodeling Show at State Fair Park in West Allis was a big success, which bodes well for the new year. The show generated more leads than normal, he said.
“When you have people coming to you with lots and looking for builders, those are good signs — those are really good signs,” Roembke said.

Partners, David Pluim and David Roembke, along with Phil Morgan, General Manager/Vice President of Operations accepted the award on behalf of Stoker, who wasn’t able to attend the event.
The MBA’s Builder of the Year award has been given to one outstanding builder each year since 1953. The award is unique in that it is given by a committee of past recipients which means that in many situations, it’s an award given by his peers.
Stoker’s involvement with the MBA began over 19 years ago and includes service on numerous Boards and Committees within the Association. He recently served as the 2017 President, has been on various Parade of Homes Committees (in fact he has had two or more Parade of Homes models in every Parade since 2003!), Parade of Homes Site Selection Committee, Construction Arbitration Board, and most recently on the Executive Board of Directors. One accomplishment that Stoker is particularly proud of is his intentional use of MBA Members. He ranks among the top eight lifetime recruiters for the MBA and had gone to great lengths to educate subcontractors on the value of Membership.
“It is a great honor to be presented with the 2018 Builder of the Year award. As a longtime member of the MBA, I would like to thank the Association and all of its Members for presenting me with this prestigious award,” said Stoker. “I am honored to be recognized alongside my colleagues and previous Builder of the Year recipients. This award is one of the most coveted honors in the home building industry.”
Stoker, who came up through the ranks of the business, is very proud of his accomplishments and his building companies’ award winning home designs. In 2003 he purchased the assets of Victory Homes, LTD and set out to change the local building industry. Since then the Victory Companies Team has acquired several building companies, each time incorporating only the best building practices. Today, each of The Victory Companies (comprised of Victory Homes of Wisconsin, Inc., Allan Builders, LLC and Victory Renovations, LLC) has a reputation for home building that focuses on quality materials, craftsmanship and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Stoker credits his parents for instilling a strong work ethic and wise, conservative approach to business that is reflected in everything he does.
