Germantown, WI (December 3, 2018) – The Metropolitan Builders Association (MBA) hosted its annual Achievement Awards and Installation Dinner on November 30th, at The Legend at Brandybrook in Wales. John Stoker, President of Wisconsin home building company, Victory Homes of Wisconsin, Inc., was awarded the prestigious 2018 Builder of the Year award. This distinguished award recognizes leaders in the building industry who exhibit integrity, strength of personal character, excellence in quality craftsmanship and the ability to navigate challenging economic times. Partners, David Pluim and David Roembke, along with Phil Morgan, General Manager/Vice President of Operations accepted the award on behalf of Stoker, who wasn’t able to attend the event.
The MBA’s Builder of the Year award has been given to one outstanding builder each year since 1953. The award is unique in that it is given by a committee of past recipients which means that in many situations, it’s an award given by his peers.
Stoker’s involvement with the MBA began over 19 years ago and includes service on numerous Boards and Committees within the Association. He recently served as the 2017 President, has been on various Parade of Homes Committees (in fact he has had two or more Parade of Homes models in every Parade since 2003!), Parade of Homes Site Selection Committee, Construction Arbitration Board, and most recently on the Executive Board of Directors. One accomplishment that Stoker is particularly proud of is his intentional use of MBA Members. He ranks among the top eight lifetime recruiters for the MBA and had gone to great lengths to educate subcontractors on the value of Membership.
“It is a great honor to be presented with the 2018 Builder of the Year award. As a longtime member of the MBA, I would like to thank the Association and all of its Members for presenting me with this prestigious award,” said Stoker. “I am honored to be recognized alongside my colleagues and previous Builder of the Year recipients. This award is one of the most coveted honors in the home building industry.”
Stoker, who came up through the ranks of the business, is very proud of his accomplishments and his building companies’ award winning home designs. In 2003 he purchased the assets of Victory Homes, LTD and set out to change the local building industry. Since then the Victory Companies Team has acquired several building companies, each time incorporating only the best building practices. Today, each of The Victory Companies (comprised of Victory Homes of Wisconsin, Inc., Allan Builders, LLC and Victory Renovations, LLC) has a reputation for home building that focuses on quality materials, craftsmanship and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Stoker credits his parents for instilling a strong work ethic and wise, conservative approach to business that is reflected in everything he does.
